Use it as a \u201cmini cruise\u201d for sightseeing, or book a stay at some of the islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Around Lofoten<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A single road and a <strong>single, coherent bus line<\/strong> (741\/742\/300) run through the whole archipelago from Svolv\u00e6r to \u00c5, with 3 to 7 connections a day. The <strong>300<\/strong> runs all the way through, while the <strong>741\/742<\/strong> combo involves a change and a toilet break in Leknes. Useful stops include the <strong>Viking Museum<\/strong> in Borg and the villages along the southwestern edge such as Reine, S\u00f8rv\u00e5gen and \u00c5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Other exciting excursions include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>743<\/strong> bus, running between Svolv\u00e6r, historic Kabelv\u00e5g and picturesque <a href=\"https:\/\/nordnorge.com\/en\/artikkel\/henningsvaer\/\">Henningsv\u00e6r<\/a>. It runs all the way from Henningsv\u00e6r 3-7 times a day, a few departures only run to Kabelv\u00e5g.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Local boat 773 runs from <strong>Reine<\/strong> to the tiny communities along the <strong>Reinefjord<\/strong>, 2-3 times a day except Saturday. In an hour or three, a bus takes you to a different region with a different feel. Or you can do a day sailing with the Hurtigruten. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Narvik-Lofoten:<\/strong> The 300 bus runs twice a day from Narvik to Svolv\u00e6r and on to \u00c5 at the end of the chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Harstad-Lofoten:<\/strong> Take bus 200 from Harstad to Tjeldsund kro, interconnecting with the same 300 bus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Harstad-Sortland\/Vester\u00e5len:<\/strong>  A variety of bus numbers, but 3-6 connections a day involving 1-2 transfers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sortland\/Vester\u00e5len-Lofoten: <\/strong>Bus 754 runs from Sortland to Melbu. There you board the ferry, and pick up the 300\/749 at Fiskeb\u00f8l (ferry dock), and continue to Svolv\u00e6r. Or vice versa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>From Narvik, take <strong>bus 100<\/strong> to Troms\u00f8 ,  2-4 connections a day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alternatively, the private company <strong>Arctic Route<\/strong> runs a tour stopping at <strong>Polar Park<\/strong> and several other stops of interest for visitors. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From <strong>Harstad<\/strong> (see above), there is an express boat to <strong>Troms\u00f8<\/strong> (2-4 times a day)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From <strong>Harstad<\/strong>, you can also take a day sailing with the Hurtigruten (Hurtigruten\/Havila) to Troms\u00f8.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To Bod\u00f8 and Fauske<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Another option is to fly into Harstad\/Narvik and fly out of Bod\u00f8. Or vice versa. Public transport options include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>From <strong>Narvik<\/strong>, there is the bus 100 going to Fauske (railway station and connection to Trondheim\/Oslo) and Bod\u00f8. 2 connections a day, includes a short ferry crossing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From <strong>Svolv\u00e6r<\/strong>, you can go by <strong>NEX<\/strong> <strong>2<\/strong> (Nordlandsekspressen) Express boat to Bod\u00f8, stopping at the island of Skrova on the way.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>Hurtigruten<\/strong> is a very convenient sailing from Bod\u00f8 to Stamsund (Lofoten) and Svolv\u00e6r. However, sailing south, you arrive very inconveniently in the middle of the night. Depending on the day, the companies <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hurtigruten.com\/en\">Hurtigruten <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.havilavoyages.com\/\">Havila<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ferry connection <strong>Bod\u00f8-Moskenes<\/strong> (at the southwestern end of the chain) offers great views on the way. This ferry also calls at the remote islands of V\u00e6r\u00f8y and <a href=\"https:\/\/nordnorge.com\/en\/artikkel\/rost-is-the-outermost-island-in-norway\/\">R\u00f8st<\/a>.
