Why We Store Information
We store information for several reasons:
- To allow the system to recognize our users so they can access services.
- To confirm purchases or registrations.
- To enable users to register for our events.
- For targeting and removal of ads and editorial content that are relevant or irrelevant to you.
- To send you updated information about courses and conferences you have signed up for.
- To develop and improve our services by understanding how they are used.
- Processing of applications.
Technical Logs
Potentially identifying information, such as IP addresses, is only stored in technical logs and used strictly for technical purposes, such as improving system configurations or in automated processes that prevent misuse of our services. In cases of suspected criminal activity, this information may be used for further investigations or legal proceedings. No personal data will be shared with third parties unless the requester has a legal warrant or statutory authority for such disclosure.
The information stored includes the visitor’s IP address, time and date, browser type used, and the page accessed.
Usage Statistics
The purpose of collecting usage statistics is to improve and further develop the information provided on our website. Examples of what the statistics help us determine include the number of visitors to different pages, visit duration, the sources of traffic, and browser types used.
The data is processed in an anonymized and aggregated form. “Anonymized” means that we cannot trace the collected data back to individual users. While we collect full IP addresses, they are anonymized so that only the first three groups of numbers are used for generating statistics. For example, if an IP address is 195.159.103.82, only 195.159.103.xx will be stored. Additionally, IP addresses are processed at an aggregated level, meaning all data is combined into a group rather than processed individually.
Dekode uses Google Analytics to collect this type of user statistics. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
User Accounts
When creating a user account, we store necessary information such as username/email address and password (in encrypted form).
We may also store optional details such as full name, phone number, etc.
When registering for courses or conferences, we may also store relevant information related to your registration, such as allergens, ticket type, payment method, and other information requested in the registration forms.
How Is Information Secured?
All communication is based on cryptographic protocols that ensure secure internet communication for browsing, email, messaging, and other data transfers.
Only selected employees at our service provider have access to the infrastructure and stored data. Access is only granted from pre-approved locations and in accordance with our current data processing agreement with them
Third-Party Content
We occasionally include videos, images, or other content from third-party websites. Such content is treated as if the visitor is on the third-party website, which means cookies may be stored, or statistics may be collected by these third parties.
We automatically prevent such embedded content from loading if your privacy settings do not allow the sharing of this type of information.
Cookies and Other Local Storage
We use cookies to provide you with better services. Some are essential for the functionality of the website, while others are used to improve performance and user experience.
You can read more about cookies and how to manage them in our Cookie Policy.
Processing of Personal Data
